The warm sunny weather wasn’t the forecast earlier in the week and this made for a great running day! The hardy bunch of racers climbed the 500 metres from the Glencoe Mountain Cafe to the top tea shack high on the mountain along the new uphill track. Local Tom Smith from Lochaber Athletic Club managed to squeeze ahead of Carnethy’s Stephen McDougall to win in a time of 20 minutes and 45 seconds, 9 seconds in front of Stephen. 3rd place went to another runner from Lochaber, Steve MacDonald, in 22 minutes and 31 seconds.
The lady’s race was a clear win from Rhona Anderson from Dunbar in a time of 25 minutes and 42 seconds who is also a Female Vet 50. 2nd lady was Jean McLennan from Dunoon Hill Runners and 3rd place to Lochaber’s new rising star, Amy Disher.
A big thanks to Glencoe Mountain Resort for making everyone so welcome.
