Off Beat Bikes/West Highland Wheelers Winter League Round 8 – Leanachan
The final round of this year’s Off Beat Bikes sponsored Winter League took place at Leanachan. Doug Little set a fiendish course that had more than its fair share of uphill! Everyone enjoyed themselves on a glorious day, followed by the end of season BBQ. Joe Barnes took line honours from Ben Miller, both representing Scotland at higher levels of racing. Gavin Maclean pipped Gregor to a well-earned third place. Hannah Barnes came in as first lady, ahead of several well-fancied gentlemen. The unluckiest man in the field was Davy Gunn who suffered simultaneous front and back punctures. The season’s trophies went to Gavin Shirley (Men), Colleen Foggo (Ladies) and Ben Miller (Junior). Special spot prizes for the most hours in the saddle went to Mairi Meldrum and Tom Macmahon who both only missed one race of the series.
