2009/2010 Balmacara Round 7
Off Beat Bikes/West Highland Wheelers Winter League Round 7 Balmacara.
The penultimate race for the OFF BEAT BIKES, West Highland Wheelers winter league was held at Balmacara last Sunday. The course is the toughest of the series with several thousand feet of gruelling climbs and an abundance of technical slippery tree rooted descents. Top time trialist and mountain bike down hiller Gavin Shirley from Roy Bridge showed his class when he led from start to finish to win comfortably . Former Scottish silver medallist Andrew Foggo had a battle with John Shirley for second place. First lady home was Colleen Foggo finnishing just ahead of the much improved Marie Meldrum.
First youth went to Orrin Macdonell who finished in 7th place overall.
