OFF BEAT BIKES, WEST HIGHLAND WHEELERS WINTER LEAGUE ROUND 3 – GLEN LOY
West Highland Wheeler’s Winter League, sponsored by Off Beat Bikes, returned to action after a snow and ice enforced break. Local riders were keen to turn a wheel again but none could match the pace of Ruari Watt on his stripped-down single speed. Joe Barnes finely tuned downhill skills helped him to a fine second place. Gavin Shirley pipped Jamie Maxwell by just 0.6 of a second to take third. Nix Forster took the ladies race after a titanic tussle with Colleen Foggo, Hannah Barnes being struck down by a mystery stomach ailment. Tom Macmahon was the first junior home. Most riders thoroughly enjoyed the new route with its silky singletrack, carefully located by Andrew Foggo and Mike Thouless.
