2009 Tommich Round 6
West Highland Wheelers Winter League continued its wintry pattern as a snowstorm heralded the riders as they set off from Tomich. Unfortunately the blizzard had twisted the marker arrow on the moor next to the Pylon Road so Kenta and Gavin headed straight on. As the snowflakes hammered down, a little previous knowledge helped Gavin Maclean who kindly corrected the route for all the other riders. Gavin and Kenta were last seen heading for Drumnadrochit! Hendry McNicol pushed Gavin Maclean to the finish but Gavin came out on top. Yuka Gallagher finished in front of Colleen for the ladies race. Ben Miller continued his progress to finish sixth. The route was a fantastic mix of climbs, open moor gnarly tracks and some sublime singletrack through the pines. Add a couple of inches of snow to give a great mix for the riders. Thanks to Tim and Gina Francis of Natural High Guiding for setting the course in very difficult conditions. Next race is Balmacara with a new route on the 22nd March
