The Great Glen cycle route
goes from Fort William to Inverness following a natural fault line which travels some 80 miles from coast to coast. The route is fully way-marked and managed by the Forestry Commission.
This is a truly spectacular trip with consistently awe inspiring views and some fantastic mountain biking passing along side Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and the famous Loch Ness. The biking is relatively non-technical; however the route does incorporate three large climbs of around 900ft each.
We recommend using a mountain bike for this route due to the nature of the terrain. We also recommend taking at least two days for the route, splitting the journey in two with an overnight stay in or around the village of Fort Augustus.
